Growing up as a black girl was so hard for me. I hated my skin, my nose, my lips, and most of all my hair. I would always see beauty portrayed on the media as fair skin, small nose, long straight hair (pretty much the opposite of who I am)...but as the years have gone by, I have learned to accept Yasmine for Yasmine. I still struggle from time to time, but I have realized that there's no one else that can be ME. That's what makes me special....and you know what. The same goes for all of you!! Whatever insecurities you may have, I pray you find it in you to turn them into strengths! We ALL have qualities that make us unique. So if you're reading this, I love you for you. You're beautiful and special and no one be you except for YOU.
